Whether or not you were a part of VFI’s incredible Ride for Our Rights convoy event on ADA Day at the end of July, if you are experiencing issues with public transit/paratransit as a person with a disability, please join them for the second round of their Transportation Advocacy Strategy Meetings! Voices for Independence will be holding their next Washington meeting at 1pm on Thursday, October 19, at our Washington office (42 W Maiden St, Washington, PA 15301).
VFI will be meeting with consumers to discuss experiences and continue planning their strategy throughout this year-long advocacy effort to help reshape public transit/paratransit for individuals with disabilities. With the signing of the ADA 33 years ago, we have seen great progress– but there is still so much work to be done– especially in regard to transportation. Let your voice be heard!
