Becoming a Board member for one of TRPIL’s corporations allows people to volunteer to serve at a key decision-making level. Board members direct the organization’s work, interpret our value in the community, and represent the organization by acting as spokespersons for the important work that we do.
Transitional Paths to Independent Living and TRPIL Community Services Boards are nominated and elected by our membership. Nomination forms are sent to current members in early summer. Once the slate of candidates is compiled, ballots are mailed to the full membership roster and completed ballots are returned to us by postal mail. Election results are tallied and announced at the joint annual meeting of our corporations in late summer.
Parent Board membership is comprised of people who are appointed by our other Boards.
If our mission interests you, these volunteer positions are an opportunity to build leadership skills and strengthen community connections. If you would like to serve in this capacity, please start the process by joining our organization as a member. You will then automatically receive updates and invitations as Board seats open.
We provide training and orientation for prospective Board members.
