Benefits Counseling

Benefits Counseling is for people who receive government benefits and are considering or have already entered the workforce.

Benefits counseling provides information for those who have not entered the workforce, explaining how work impacts benefits, so they can make an informed decision.  For consumers who have already entered the workforce, Benefits Counseling can help them understand the shifts in their benefits and the work incentives available to them.

Examples:

  • Benefits Summary & Analysis
    • Looks at all of the government benefits a person has and analyzes how earned income could impact said benefits.
    • This allows people to make an informed decision before they start work or important information after work.
  • Creation of a checklist of what agencies you need to inform of earned income and when.
  • Assistance with filling out SSA forms
  • Clarifying letters from SSA and coaching people on the steps that need to happen next, if needed
